Up for auction is a beautiful handmade quilt, sewn especially for you by one of our sopranos, Denise Lumarda.
This is a large quilt measuring 100" X 100" and it will easily fit a king-sized bed. It is machine-pieced in a 4" block pattern from 100% cotton, 30's and 40's reproduction fabrics in shades of green, pink, rose and white. Our grandmothers would recognize the patterns as "feed sack" fabrics from their childhoods. The quilt is made with 100% cotton batting and is also backed in 100% cotton. It is generously hand-quilted at approximately 7 stitches to the inch.

Randomwood is a 45 minute drive north/northwest of Kingston. Some unpaved road involved.
Six bedrooms, four with lake view. 3 ½ baths. Fully equipped kitchen. Fireplace. Screened porch. Deck. Gazebo. Stunning sunset views. Dock, with room for chairs. Canoe and kayak available. Bring fishing gear: bass, walleye, pike, sunfish. Swimming might be cold, but not necessarily unthinkable. Clean, quiet lake. Loons. Five acres of woods. A few beat-up guitars, books, games.
Nearby attractions: Frontenac Provincial Park, Sandbanks Provincial Park on Lake Ontario, Fort Henry, Thousand Islands, Rivendell Golf Course.
Autumn has advantages: no bugs, beautiful color in the woods.
Lake access is a little steep (and not wheelchair accessible). Very small beach area, frequently underwater depending on the lake level. There's no TV, and no radio (bring a short wave). NO INTERNET at the house. You can get online at Sydenham Public Library, about 20 minutes away.
